Our spring concert comprised Beethoven's triumphant Ninth Symphony (The Choral) and Handel's glorious Coronation Anthems. We were joined by Brighton Chamber Choir and accompanied by Sussex Classical Players.

Few pieces of classical pieces of music are so well recognised and celebrated as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with its powerful finale ‘Ode to Joy’ and uplifting message about the unity of mankind.

Handel’s Coronation Anthems are full of grandeur and majesty, having a strong emotional impact which is particularly evident in the anthem ‘Zadok the Priest’.

 

The concert was very well received by the capacity audience.
